Extraordinary Rare Victorian Necklace 18K Gold

$4,100.00
Sold

Do you like this old 18K chain from the 1870s? Not to brag or anything but I think I have been bringing you some pretty spectacular pieces lately πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

This is 42 inches long!!! Done in 18K solid gold with the most beautiful god color as they only did it back in the 1800s. The clasp holds a big light purple pastel amethyst and two turqouises. On the back you will find the full old Swedish hallmarks. Still crisp and clear. The clasop is working as the day it was made those 150 years ago.

The links are made out of hundreds and hundreds of big rounds links with either polished surface or engravings.

For a chain this old the condition is remarkable. Not all links are perfectly round, they do show some signs of age and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are truly perfect and so so charming. Each and every one made by hand.

This was probably commissioned by someone very special and high up in society. Gold was hard to come by at this time so only few could afford it and also the goldsmiths had to make little gold go a long way. This goldsmith definitely succeeded and made a very special piece with the 39 grams of gold he had access to (or the client could afford).

The links are 9 mm wide and the clasp is 19x13 mm. The amethyst is 10x8 mm. One turquoise stone has a tiny crack in the corner. This is absolutely not noticeable (and I only noticed just now after fiddling with this chain all day long).

Please send me a DM if you can’t wait until tomorrow when so do model pics to purchase (or you’re afraid someone else will).
